Police dashcam of wrong way driver on Hwy 29 in Wausau, WI
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A wrong-way driver nearly crashed into a police squad car on Highway 29 west of Wausau on Saturday night.
Police say they received multiple reports of a driver traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes near 72nd Avenue around 10:30pm. The driver came to a stop after the near miss.
The driver, a 34-year-old woman from Neenah, is facing multiple charges.
A police report says the woman was supposed to be caring for a child who had been left alone. Officers went to the home and said the child was okay.
She’ll be charged with child neglect and third offense OWI.
Her name hasn’t been released. She’ll make a court appearance on Monday.
