Victor Pennington
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A former Wausau resident who distributed 500 grams or more of methamphetamine locally as part of a significant narcotics scheme will serve 12 years in federal prison.
U.S. District Judge William Conley handed down Victor Pennington’s sentence last week. When Pennington is released from prison, he will also be placed under extended monitoring for five years.
Pennington was arrested last September following a high speed car chase which resulted in police seizing more than 800 grams of methamphetamine.
Pennington was facing a minimum of ten years in prison on the charge. Judge Conley noted Pennington’s criminal history, the amount of meth seized, and the fact that he was already on probation for previous charges as reason for the longer sentence.
According to court documents, Pennington was previously convicted of drug trafficking back in 2019. Along with Pennington, two other people were found guilty; the specifics of their sentences have not been made public.
