The 38-year-old James is in his 20th NBA season and has scored over 38-thousand points in his career. The four-time NBA MVP made his professional debut in 2003 with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Abdul-Jabbar posted more than 38-thousand career points and previously held the record for nearly 40 years.
