GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — An absence of light will apparently help the Packers’ star quarterback make a decision on his football future.
Aaron Rodgers joined the Pat McAfee show on Tuesday and said he’ll go on a four-day “darkness retreat” following the Super Bowl. The QB was asked if he is considering retirement, which he responded with, “for sure; it’s a real thing 100-percent.”
He went on to say, “I’ve got a pretty cool opportunity to do a little self-reflection in some isolation, and then after that I feel like I’ll be a lot closer to a final, final decision.”
The 39-year-old will have no contact with the outside world while he sits in a small house alone in the dark.
Rodgers is entering the second year of a 150-million dollar contract and acknowledged he would need to rework his deal if traded to another team. The Jets and Raiders are rumored to be interested in the Super Bowl winning quarterback.
