Brian Penny
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The man suspected of firing a gun in a Wausau home is being held on a $10,000 cash bond
Brian Penny was in court Thursday where he waived his right to a reading of the charges. Judge LaMont K Jacobson then set a preliminary hearing in the case for February 27th.
The 43-year-old is accused of pointing a gun in the direction of the victim while he was drunk, then firing a shot in the air. Someone inside the home called 911, and when police arrived they made phone contact with Penny.
He came out of the house and surrendered peacefully.
Details surrounding the incident have not been made public, though many of the charges against him carry domestic abuse modifiers.
Should Penny post bond he’s ordered to have no contact with the victim and a police escort to the home where the incident occurred to collect any belongings. He’s also ordered to maintain absolute sobriety and not possess any dangerous weapons. He will also be monitored by ATTIC correctional services and submit to regular drug testing.
