SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (MetroSource-WSAU) — Team Giannis was without its captain for most of the All-Star Game in Salt Lake City last night.
Giannis Antetokounmpo left the game after the very first play. The Bucks forward dunked the ball with his left hand following the opening tip and committed a foul right after to take himself out of the game. The seven-time All-Star didn’t return.
Giannis sprained his right wrist in Milwaukee’s win over the Bulls heading into All-Star weekend. Tim Bontemps reports Giannis will undergo further testing on his wrist today in New York. The Deer host the Heat in their next game on Friday.
As for the game itself, Team Giannis edged Team LeBron 184-175. Celtics forward Jayson Tatum scored an All-Star Game record 55 points in the victory while his Boston teammate Jaylen Brown led Team LeBron with 35 points.
Jrue Holiday was selected by Giannis and had just three points and two assists in nine minutes of play.
