WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – As Wisconsin braces for heavy snow and freezing temperatures, there are precautions you can take to keep you and your family safe.
It’s better to stay inside, but if you must venture outside, there are certain measures to take, advises Marathon County Communications & Engagement Strategist Sarah Severson.
“We recommend that you keep a full tank of gas in your vehicle, as well as an emergency kit with water and granola bars, as well as extra blankets and jumper cables,” Severson said.
Severson also discussed how to prepare your home for the upcoming conditions, saying, “Make sure you have a flashlight, blankets, and anything else you may need in the event of a power outage, as well as keeping a battery-powered radio and your mobile devices charged.”
