TOWN OF ROME, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A man died after his UTV broke through the ice on Lake Camelot in Adams County.
It happened just before 4pm on Saturday. Bystanders were able to help get the 64-year-old driver to safety, but the driver told officers the 66-year-old passenger had not come out of the water.
The passenger’s remains were recovered by the Town of Rome Fire Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the victim hasn’t been released.
The Rome Police Department is urging extreme caution, as ice conditions are poor.
