WESTON, WI (WSAU) A man who was wanted for a shooting incident in Weston has been arrested in Chicago.
Desmond Mayo, 29, is being charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. He’ll face an extradition hearing that could send him back to Wisconsin in the next few days.
Mayo is accused of wounded a man on February 5. The victim was able to drive himself to the emergency room after being shot in the chest and stomach.
The shooting appears to be related to a drug deal. Police say Mayo and the shooting victim were delivering drugs on Canyon Road when Mayo opened fire.
Mayo has a long list of drug charges in Central Wisconsin. In July of 2021 he was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. He was arrested again a month later on charges of cocaine possession, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and possessing a stolen firearm.
