WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – Bill Ferrario, a former Green Bay Packers player, is being held in the Marathon County Jail on new criminal charges. According to court documents, Ferrario is now facing charges of stalking, intimidating a victim, and bail jumping.
Ferrario pleaded not guilty earlier this year to disorderly conduct and operating while intoxicated, which his second offense. He was released from custody on Jan. 4 after posting his $1,500 signature bond during a hearing.
The former Packer was arrested on Wednesday by the Eau Claire Police Department. On Friday morning, he was transferred to the Marathon County Jail.
He was also charged with his second offense of driving while intoxicated in January. This charge stemmed from an incident that occurred last fall.
Officers responded to a one-vehicle collision on County Highway X close to State Highway 52 in the town of Wausau on October 12, according to his criminal complaint.
Ferrario’s pickup truck and utility trailer missed a turn, went into the ditch, and got lodged in some trees, according to investigators, and he was the only person inside. According to court records, Ferrario claimed that he had consumed alcohol before the collision. According to a report, he said, “From 4:30 a.m. until now, a half to a third-liter bottle of vodka.” Around 11:45 a.m., that accident happened.
A preliminary breath test revealed a result of.222, which is nearly three times the legal limit.
