GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU-MetroSource) – A departure for the Packers’ star quarterback is drawing closer.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Jets and Packers have agreed to trade compensation for an Aaron Rodgers deal. The terms haven’t become public.
In addition, New York has also worked out terms with Rodger’s contract, a common occurrence for such deals. He would have been owed $106 million.
Pelissero says the last step is Rodgers approving the move.
ESPN reports the Jets walked away from their meeting with Rodgers feeling “optimistic” about getting a deal done.
Multiple sources report the Packers are ready to “move on” from Rodgers, making Jordan Love the team’s starter for next season.
