STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A former youth pastor at the Woodlands Church in Plover has reached a plea deal for seven felony counts related to the sexual assault of a child.
Jordan Huffman was in a Portage County courtroom earlier this month where a plea hearing was scheduled for June 23rd at 11:15 AM. Charges against him include first-degree child sexual assault with a person under the age of 13, repeated sexual assault of the same victim, and multiple counts of child enticement
Charges against him go back to 2017 when investigators say he was tasked with mentoring a child because they were acting out at school and had started drinking alcohol. It’s believed that Huffman assaulted the victim multiple times over three years, stopping only after the victim told him they no longer wanted to do anything sexual.
The child’s parent brought the allegations forward earlier this year.
Huffman also faces a misdemeanor for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and a felony count of causing a minor to view pornographic material.
The 51-year-old was working in Florida when he was arrested for the charges in 2022. He’s since moved to Antigo, according to court records.
