MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – After clearing waivers, Milwaukee Brewers infielder Keston Hiura was outrighted to their Triple-A affiliate in Nashville on Tuesday.
Hiura, 26, had an outstanding rookie season in 2019 but has yet to replicate that performance. Last season, he batted.226 with 14 home runs and 32 RBIs in 80 games, striking out 111 times in 266 plate appearances.
In 284 games, he has a.238 career batting average,.318 on-base percentage, 50 home runs, and 132 RBIs. His best season was in 2019, when he hit.303 with 19 home runs and 49 RBIs in 84 games while posting a.938 OPS.
Hiura started his career at second base but has mostly played first base since 2021. Last season, he also played five games in left field.
