REMINGTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A missing teen was discovered safe after a search involving Wood County K9, people on foot, and a drone in a wooded area north of Babcock.
Just after 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the Wood County Dispatch Center received a call about a missing person who had gotten lost in some nearby woods. According to a press statement from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, the teen had been missing for nearly an hour when it was reported to the dispatch center.
A search was launched, with Wood County Sheriff’s Department units responding to the scene. Additional personnel were requested by the Remington and Pittsville fire departments. The teen was discovered around 8:35 p.m. near the Yellow River north of Babcock.
The child was examined for any injuries and then released.
