MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Milwaukee’s Potawatomi Sportsbook will officially open on Friday.
The facility has announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Friday morning with Mayor Caviler Johnson placing the first legal bet at one of the kiosks near the former Fire Pit Sports Bar and Grill.
Those kiosks will be temporarily located near the skywalk. They’ll eventually move into the remodeled Sportsbook Lounge featuring 30 TVs, dining options, and a new bar.
The casino is offering 20-minute parking for those who want to place a bet and leave. All winnings must be redeemed at the casino.
Sports gambling has been legalized nationwide on a state-by-state basis. Wisconsin tribes have been slowly re-working their gambling pacts with the state to allow for on-site betting on professional and college games along with award show events such as the Grammys and Oscars.
