MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Despite Corbin Burns’ struggles on the mound, the Milwaukee Brewers swept the New York Mets on Wednesday.
The Brewers continued to hit well, scoring 7 runs on 10 hits. Jesse Winker went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and rookie Joey Wiemer went 1 for 4 with three RBIs.
Corbin Burns was removed from the game in the fourth inning after allowing six earned runs and only striking out three batters. Burns was making his second start of the season, having also struggled against the Cubs on Opening Day.
The game was tied at six in the bottom of the ninth inning when second-year starter Garrett Mitchell came up to bat after entering the game in the seventh. Mitchell worked the count full and hit a walk-off home run off Mets pitcher Adam Ottavino.
