STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The World’s Largest Trivia Contest kicks off Friday in Stevens Point.
“Trivia 53: The Trivia Life for Me” is the theme of this year’s event, a play on the novelty song “A Pirate’s Life For Me” and a nod to the longevity and comradery that trivia teams have developed through the years.
Registration opened on Monday. Those teams that haven’t registered will still have time to do so between noon and 6 PM Friday. The first question will be revealed at 6 PM, and teams will have the length of two songs to submit their answers and rack up points. Questions will continue until midnight on Sunday. The top teams will win trophies and bragging rights for the following year.
Other Trivia Weekend events include a community-wide scavenger hunt and community-themed questions.
Teams do not necessarily need to be in Stevens Point to play, though many make the trip to town and make the event a mini-reunion.
The event is the single-largest fundraiser for 90FM, the UWSP student-run radio station.
