SAN DIEGO, CA (WSAU) – The Brewers pushed a run across the plate in the 2nd inning, and made it stand up in a 1-0 win over the Padres.
Wade Miley pitched 7 sharp inning, striking out 8 and walking none. Devin Williams loaded the bases in the bottom of the 9th before getting the final out.
Brian Anderson’s sacrifice fly scored the game’s only run. Baserunner Garrett Mitchell moved from 1st to 2nd base on a disengagement violation by Padres starter Yu Darvish. He stole third before scoring on the Anderson sacrifice.
The Brewers took 3-of-4 from the Padres, and are 4-3 on their 10-game road trip. They play the Mariners in Seattle on Monday night at 8:05pm CT on WSAU.
