MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers held their 11th spring practice on Tuesday, and it was their first indoor practice in a long time.
After a good showing on Saturday, C.J. Williams earned all of the first-team wide receiver reps on Tuesday, stepping into his usual spot on the right side, while Chimere Dike took Keontez Lewis’s spot on the left side.
The wideouts have been really competitive for the most part, with sure hands playing a big part in that. However, drops were a recurring trend on Tuesday.
Keontez Lewis, Skyler Bell, Angel Toombs, Chimere Dike, Vinny Anthony, and Quincy Burroughs all had big drops and struggled to create space against the Badgers defensive backs.
The offensive team’s day was highlighted by an excellent pass from Tanner Mordecai to Will Pauling between Kamo’i Latu and Hunter Wohler, but overall he had accuracy issues throughout day, particularly down the field.

Although there were a couple drops on that end, Kamo’i Latu, Jason Maitre, and Ricardo Hallman all came close to intercepting Mordecai three times while the first-team defense was on the field.
Braedyn Locke also suffered from a few drops while having a handful of throws broken up by defenders on a day when he was missing C.J. Williams as his top receiver.
Locke did make a stunning play, though, with a 40-yard pass to Skyler Bell, who sprinted 25 yards untouched for a touchdown.
The Badgers will return to practice on Thursday before Saturday’s “The Launch” spring game.
