GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Packers hosted Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan on an official top-30 visit, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Over 51 games and 47 starts for the Gophers, Morgan completed 62.2 percent of his passes, threw 65 touchdown passes and 32 interceptions, and ran for eight touchdowns. Morgan has been Minnesota’s starting quarterback for the last five seasons (2018–22). In 2019, when he set a school record with 30 touchdown passes and just seven interceptions, he had his best season. He completed a season’s worth of passes at a rate of over 66 percent twice, including a school-record 66.9 percent in 2022.
Morgan (6-0, 204) did not receive an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine. He ran the 40-yard sprint in 4.91 seconds on Minnesota’s pro day. Scouts from the Packers were in attendance.
Other notable quarterbacks the Packers have worked out and spoken with include Stanford’s Tanner McKee, Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker, TCU’s Max Duggan, BYU’s Jaren Hall and Penn State’s Sean Clifford.
