Mitchell will get a second opinion in hopes to able to return this fall.
With Mitchell out, Blake Perkins has been brought up from Triple A Nashville. The 26-year-old will make his major-league debut. He was signed to an MLB contract by the Brewers in November, but he was optioned to Triple-A during spring training.
Perkins owns a.292/.370/.417 slash line (106 wRC+) in 54 plate appearances for the Nashville Sounds.
He is expected to make some starts during his stay with the organization, but Joey Wiemer could be the team’s primary center fielder. Brian Anderson and Owen Miller might see more time in right field, giving Mike Brosseau additional opportunity at third base.
