MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers opened an extended homestand with a 5-3 setback to the Boston Red Sox on Friday.
William Contreras had two hits in the loss. Rowdy Tellez added a solo home run to lead the offense.
Brice Turang added an RBI base hit as well.
Freddy Peralta was charged with the loss in 5.2 innings. He allowed five hits and four earned runs.
The Rex Sox took an early 2-0 lead in the game but Milwaukee took a 3-2 lead going into the 6th before Boston would go ahead for good.
The same two teams will play again this evening. Coverage on WSAU begins at 5:35 PM.
Milwaukee is at the start of a stretch of three consecutive series against American League opponents as part of baseball’s new scheduling formula which has all 30 clubs playing at least two games against one another each season.
