WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Marshfield man has been sentenced for two counts of possession of child pornography which stemmed from an arrest following a tense standoff in the parking lot of Walmart.
Theodore Trahern will serve five years in prison and seven years on extended supervision after entering a no contest plea to the charges back in December. As part of the plea deal, ten other counts were dismissed including nine other charges of possession of child pornography and one count of failure to comply with an officer’s orders.
Trahern will also pay a $1,000 fine. He was granted credit for just over one year already served in jail.

The 29-year-old was arrested in April 2022 after an hours-long standoff in which officers surrounded Trahern as he was in a semi. They instructed him to surrender, but he refused to come out and then displayed a knife. He did surrender after an hour of negotiations.
