MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU-MetroSource) The Milwaukee Brewers exploded for seven runs in the third inning en route to a 9-6 win over the visiting Kansas City Royals at American Family Field.
Mike Brosseau, Brice Turang and Christian Yelich each homered as the Brewers completed a three-game sweep of Kansas City. Eric Lauer improved to 4-and-4 after allowing two earned runs and striking out six in five-and-a-third innings of relief.
The Brewers are sitting atop the NL Central at 23-and-17.
Royals starter Jordan Lyles slipped to 0-and-7 after allowing seven earned through two-and-a-third frames. Hunter Dozier, Salvador Perez and Bobby Witt Jr. went deep as Kansas City fell to 12-and-30.
The Brew Crew open a three-game set against the Cardinals in St. Louis tonight. Freddy Peralta gets the start opposite Jack Flaherty.
