The Milwaukee Brewers got another win over the Kansas City Royals yesterday, closing out the game with 4-3 victory. The win came at Rookie Joey Wiemer’s sacrifice fly with 1 out in the 9th inning.
Christian Yelich homered twice for the Brewers, with the 2nd tying it at 3 in the 6th. Brian Anderson started the 9th with a single off of Carlos Hernandez, who came in as a relief in the start of the inning. Owen Miller’s one-out double sent Anderson to 3rd. Rookie Joey Wiemer then stepped up with with a fly 1 out of the 9th inning. The ball went deep enough to center for Anderson to easily score.
Devin Williams got the victory with a perfect 9th, (3-0). Salvador Perez opened the 5th with his 8th homer, that put the Royals up 3-2, chasing starter Adrian Houser. Houser allowed 3 runs and 8 hits as the Royals left 6 aboard through 4 innings, including 3 in scoring position.
Yelich is batting .333 (14-for-42) over his last 11 games with 3 homers, a double, 10 RBIS 3 walks, 3 stolen bases and 8 runs scored.
