GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The agency that represents Green Bay Packers second-round pick Jayden Reed is reportedly under investigation by the NFLPA.
According to Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com, Agent David Canter is being looked into by the NFL Players Association after it was alleged that he contacted multiple teams on draft weekend and offered the use of his own vacation homes in exchange for a team selecting one of his clients.
“We are aware that the NFLPA is looking into communications between my client and various management personnel of certain NFL teams.” Canter’s lawyer, Adam Kenner, informed ESPN. “Mr. Canter did not engage in any wrongdoing and he is fully cooperating with the NFLPA. We expect the situation to be resolved shortly.”
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has confirmed one of the allegations saying, “One General Manager, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation, has informed PFT that he received such an offer.” Florio wrote. “The G.M. in question is aware of at least two others who received a similar offer.”
Xavien Howard of the Miami Dolphins, DeMarcus Lawrence of the Dallas Cowboys, and Asante Samuel Jr. of the Los Angeles Chargers are just a few of the NFL players Canter represents. Canter has faced NFLPA disciplinary action in the past, according to sources who also spoke to ESPN.
