MOSINEE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – On Friday afternoon, a 44-year-old Mosinee man died in a farming accident in the town of Bergen.
A medical emergency was reported at a farm in the 139000 block of Moon Road in the township of Bergen at 3:13 p.m., according to a police report. The man’s father called and claimed his son was trapped in the barn’s silo when the silo motor fell and entrapped him.
Scott Tryba, 44, was discovered deceased by his brother. The man’s brother came in after tilling the fields and saw the cows hadn’t been milked yet, according to a police report. His sibling, he claimed, “hadn’t missed a day of milking cows in 44 years.”
He knew he was shoveling silage in the silo around 12:30 p.m. He went up to check for his brother and discovered the silage motor on his back.
The man was pronounced deceased when police arrived. The wire looked to have snapped, causing the motor to fall nearly 50 feet and pin Tyrba.
According to the article, the death was ruled non-suspicious after an investigation.
