WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – Everyone in Wisconsin seems to be anticipating fall and a new era for Badger football.
That moment is getting closer with each passing day. Thursday, May 25 marks the 100th day until the Badgers open the 2023 season against Buffalo at home on September 2.
In honor of that milestone occasion, the Badgers are holding a statewide “Wisconsin Football 100 Days to Kickoff Scavenger Hunt” for the second year in a row. UW personnel will place 100 small Badger football helmets in each of the four regions across the state, in collaboration with communities across the state.
The helmets can be found in the following cities: Burlington, Hudson, Madison, Mineral Point, Oshkosh, Sun Prairie, Verona, Waukesha, and Wausau.
A prize will be attached to each helmet. Tickets to a UW home game, Badger apparel, gift cards from BuckysLockerRoom.com and Kwik Trip, as well as items from Culver’s and Scheels, are among the possible prizes. The Scavenger Hunt will start at six in the morning and last until about eight.
The particular locations within each city that will be included in the scavenger hunt will be disclosed on May 25 at 6 a.m. Fans will be able to redeem their prize by scanning a code attached to each small helmet. There will be a one-prize limit per fan.
Last year’s inaugural 100 Days to Kickoff Scavenger Hunt was considered a big success, with almost 500 participants claiming prizes for locating helmets in Appleton, Eau Claire, Kenosha, Madison, and Racine, as well as participating online.
