Wisconsin Badgers
MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Grand Valley State Rapids’ D-II All-American defensive back Nyzier Fourqurean is becoming the latest addition to the Wisconsin Badgers’ 2023 squad.
Fourqurean originally committed to play for the Vanderbilt Commodores, but he changed his mind and joined former coach Matt Mitchell, who is now Wisconsin’s outside linebackers coach.
The former three-star recruit was slated to be a starter this upcoming season at Vanderbilt but will now compete for a starting role on a revamped Badger team with B1G Ten Championship aspirations.

“We’ve been talking since last week,” Fourqurean told BadgerBlitz.com. “I got the offer last week and committed today. I haven’t visited yet but I think I will report next week. Otherwise I’ll visit next week and enroll the week after. I’m real excited about Wisconsin.”
Alexander Smith and Jason Maitre are in their final season, and Fourqurean will give the Badgers a solid option for 2024, possibly giving them a great future duo between him and standout corner Ricardo Hallman.
