ST. PETERSBURG, FL (WSAU) — An 8th-inning sac fly provided the lone run of the game Friday as Milwaukee fell to the MLB-leading Tampa Bay Rays 1-0
Darin Ruf led the Brewers with two hits and a walk from the DH spot. Six other players collected a single hit each including William Contreras who had a double.
Reliever Peter Strzelecki gave up the game-winning run on a fly ball to Francisco Mejia that scored Luke Raley.
Tampa Bay improved to 33-13, and Milwaukee is now 24-20.
Game two of the three-game set is this afternoon with pregame coverage starting at 2:35 on WSAU.
