TOWN OF MAINE, WI (WSAU) — A two-county chase began in the Town of Maine and ended with an arrest in Lincoln County last week.
It started when the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the Town of Maine. The driver refused to stop, leading to a chase that reached speeds up to 100 MPH.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Officers joined the pursuit as it crossed the county line, deploying spike strips that deflated the vehicle’s tires. The chase continued at slower speeds before a PIT maneuver was used to bring the vehicle to a stop.
The driver was arrested for undisclosed charges. No injuries were reported in the incident, one Lincoln County patrol car sustained minor damage.
The incident occurred last Monday, May 15th. Names of those involved have not been released.
