SCHOFIELD, WI (WSAU) – The D.C. Everest School District notified families on Sunday that two Everest high school students died in a weekend crash. They’re identified as Emily Lewerenz, a senior, and Danny Johnson, a junior. The accident happened on Saturday. Further details about the wreck haven’t been made public.
Two others who haven’t been identified were injured. There’s been no further update on their conditions.
The district-wide email said: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of these young individuals who touch the lives of so many in our community and will be dearly missed.”
The District says its Student Services Team will be available for those who need additional support. Those who need additional counseling should call the Marathon County United Way’s 211-line.
