TOWN OF CAMERON, WI (WSAU) — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted arson at a vacant building in the Town of Cameron near the intersection of US Highway 10 and WI Highway 80.
Officers responded to a report of a fire in the Cameron Club on Monday at 7:45 PM, though officers believe the fire may have started as early as 5 PM. Crews were able to contain the blaze with minimal damage to the structure.
No further details regarding the incidents have been released, though investigators say the incident was a “clear” arson attempt.
Officers are asking for anyone with information about the incident to submit a tip to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, either directly at 715-421-8700 or through the P3 app for smartphones and tablets. All tips should reference case number 23-8686.
