WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — This is why many stations have moved to pay at the pump or pre-pay only for fuel sales.
Marathon County Crimestoppers are asking for the public’s help to solve a gas drive-off that occurred in Wausau earlier this month.
It happened at the Merrill Avenue BP station on May 18th. Two people pulled up to the pumps in a white Ford Fusion with a cracked windshield, filled the tank, and drove off without paying.
The suspects had ski masks covering their faces to conceal their identities. Additionally, the vehicle had its license plate removed.
