RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU-WXPR) – Long lines of cars made their way north Friday.
This weekend marks the start of the busiest time of year for visitors to the Northwoods.
While some people who live here year-round may find the influx of people hard to adjust to, Wisconsin Department of Tourism Secretary Anne Sayers reminds us how important those visitors are to the economy. “It’s so important that folks… good for all of us.”
Tourism in Wisconsin is a $20-billion industry.
A 2021 report, shows direct visitor spending in Vilas and Oneida Counties at more than $250 million each.
