Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Brewers’ offense continued to struggle as they lost their series against the Blue Jays on Thursday by a score of 3-1.
Freddy Peralta was quickly overwhelmed by the Blue Jays, who hit two home runs in the first inning to score three runs. Bo Bichette’s single homer to center field gave the game its first run, and Matt Chapman’s two-run bomb came three batters later.
Peralta blanked the Blue Jays over the next five innings and struck out 14 of the final 16 batters he faced. In his six innings of work, he gave up three runs on six hits, two walks, and three strikeouts.
The Brewers have not won a road series since they swept the Seattle Mariners in April after dropping this series.
Milwaukee opens a four-game series against the Reds on Friday at 4:10 p.m. CT on WSAU. Corbin Burnes will get the start for the Brewers, while Brandon Williamson takes the mound for the Reds.
