The Wausau School Board is expected to finalize plans for merging elementary schools as part of the ongoing district restructuring process.
According to Monday’s agenda, they’ll take up a series of committee recommendations on school mergers. Those were approved in late May, and include the closure of Grant, Hewitt-Texas, and Lincoln elementary schools.
Further discussion on plans involving Hawthorne Hills, John Marshall, and Franklin will take place later.
The agenda also includes language for a closed session regarding “litigation on discrimination matters in which it is involved or is likely to become involved. Specifically, the Board will discuss and consider a pending personnel matter and related appeals and independent investigation. The Board may take action in closed session as appropriate.”
No specifics on what that involves were included in Monday’s agenda packet, but it likely centers around allegations against East High School Rob Perkins. A similar closed session was held last month, which adjourned with no open-session action or further comment to the media.
