MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Today marks the start of Summerfest and this year’s event is sure to draw in large crowds over the next two weeks.
Tonight country music stars Eric Church and Elle King will take the stage to headline tonight’s series of concerts. Other notable shows today include 90s hip hop grow Three Six Mafia and popular EDM artist Gryffin.
Summerfest attendees who arrive today can enter for free at any gate with three non-perishable cans of fruits or vegetables, and kids will be able to enter for free tomorrow from noon to 3 PM.
Vice President of Entertainment Scott Ziel spoke about the event with Milwaukee Mag saying, “I do this every year – walk from one end of the grounds to the other and stop at each stage [to] listen to a few songs. It’s a great way to hear new music, [and] who knows? You may discover your new favorite band. There’s nothing like live outdoor music, and with 12 stages, be sure to visit each one – music starts at noon!”
Tomorrow’s headliners include popular country group Zac Brown Band and country singer Marcus King. Classic rock groups such as Queensryche, Autograph, and Steven Adler of Guns N’ Roses will also be performing tomorrow evening.
Tickets are still available at www.summerfest.com/ticket-info/.
