Umberto N Lo
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – January will see the start of the 26-year-old Wausau man’s eight-day trial on charges that he killed his girlfriend.
Umberto Lo, 30, is accused of murdering Mai Rue “Lily” Vang. Vang died of a gunshot wound on March 21, 2021. It occurred in her Wausau apartment, which she shared with Lo.
Court records indicate After the shooting, Lo called a relative and asked them to come pick up his kids. The relative believed Lo was making fun of him, and Lo is accused of sending a picture of Vang’s fatal wound. When the relative dialed 911, Lo was promptly taken into custody. None of the two little children were hurt.
According to the prosecution, Lo thought Vang had been having an affair. He continues to be detained in the Marathon County Jail under a $1 million cash bond.
The trial is scheduled to start on January 22.
