MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Since the Los Angeles Lakers declined to exercise their team option on Malik Beasley, six teams have emerged interested as contenders to sign the free agent guard.
The Sixers, Suns, Raptors, Mavericks, Bucks, and Warriors have all reportedly shown interest in signing Beasley, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, though it’s unclear if any of the teams have made him a formal offer.
Beasley played in 81 games last season for the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 12.7 points, and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 35.7 percent from behind the ark.
Despite Milwaukee running out of cap space, the team does have a $5 million taxpayer midlevel exception that could make it possible for Beasley to sign with the Bucks.
Milwaukee re-signed veteran Jae Crowder on Saturday after agreeing to new deals with both Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez. The Bucks lost Joe Ingles to the Orlando Magic and Jevon Carter to the Chicago Bulls, creating rather large holes on their bench that a player like Beasley could fill.
