WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – On July 4, people in the Wausau area will be able to enjoy fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
According to a news release from the Town of Rib Mountain, the show will begin at the Wausau Downtown Airport.
The firework display will feature fireworks that are mainly visible from long distances making the Wausau Downtown Airport not an ideal place to view the show.

For the first time, the Town of Rib Mountain, the Village of Rothschild, the City of Schofield, the Village of Weston, and the City of Wausau collaborated and pitched in on the fireworks show.
Earlier this month, the show’s coordinator Jean Frankel stated that “People can go to the airport, it’s just that the airport grounds won’t be open…so they can sit on the outside of the fence and view the fireworks from Airport Park and Alexander Park.”
