MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Highly coveted running back Darrion Dupree, a four-star prospect, announced on Twitter on Friday that he has committed to the Wisconsin Badgers.
Dupree is an Illinois native, and the Badgers beat out the Missouri Tigers and the Fighting Illini from his home state to secure his commitment.
He stands 5’10 and weighs 190 pounds, and joins a two-back class for the Badgers in 2024 and becomes their top prospect at the position.
According to reports, the Badgers are getting a versatile running back in Dupree, who should fit in well with new offensive coordinator Phil Longo’s offense. Dupree will also provide the team with much-needed depth to fill the void left by the expected departures of Braelon Allen and Chez Mellusi after the current season.
Though the Badgers are still interested in four-star running back Dilin Jones, it appears like their running back class is finally set with the commitments of Dupree and three-star Gideon Ituka from June.
In the 2024 recruiting class, Dupree joins fellow four-star prospects Omillio Agard and Emerson Mandell as the 17th and third commitments in July.
