WASHINGTON DC (WSAU) – According to a recent Echelon Insights poll conducted between June 26 and June 29, voters in the battleground states would choose former President Donald Trump to win the White House if the 2024 election were held today.
With 48% of voters saying they will definitely or probably support him, former President Donald Trump is ahead of President Joe Biden in key states, according to the poll. While 11% are unsure, 41% say they would definitely or probably vote for Biden. Arizona, Florida, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Wisconsin are among the battleground states for 2024.
The poll found that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and President Joe Biden are almost tied with 44% and 43% of the vote, respectively. Only 23% of registered voters in competitive states want to see Biden run for president in 2024, compared to 63% who don’t.
If the primary were held today, 63 percent of voters in polled swing states say they would support the former president, while 32 percent say they would choose DeSantis. A total of 60% of voters nationally declared they would back Trump.
Back in April, Echelon Insights had President Biden leading in swing states by five points and noted that the President’s steadily dropping approval rating was the main cause of the 12-point swing toward Trump.
A recent Five Thirty-Eight poll conducted in late June also found former President Trump currently leads President Biden by four points nationally and holds a ten-point lead over Biden with independents. This further demonstrates the seemingly growing shift toward the former President after the same poll found President Biden leading Trump by three points nationally back in May.
