MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Anelu Lafaele, a four-star outside linebacker, has committed to the Wisconsin Badgers, putting an end to the school’s recruitment of one of its top targets in the current cycle regardless of position.
Lafaele, a native of Hawaii, had limited his list of colleges to Wisconsin, Washington, Hawaii, and Arizona State, but after making an official visit to Madison on June 2nd, he didn’t have much trouble making up his mind. Lafaele is Hawaii’s second-ranked recruit and the nation’s 21st-ranked edge rusher overall.
“Ever since my first visit there, it felt like home,” Lafaele told Badger247. “I can see myself playing there. I have good relationships up there. It’s pretty awesome.”
He will be playing outside linebacker for the Badgers alongside 2024 three-star commit Thomas Heiberger, which means the Badgers are probably done recruiting for that position for the entering senior class.
The outside linebacker joins four-star offensive lineman, Emerson Mandell, four-star cornerback Omillio Agard, and four-star running back Darrion Dupree as the 18th pledge for the Badgers in the class and the fourth to sign in July.
