MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Brewers defeated the Reds 3-0 on Saturday thanks to another dominant performance from the pitching staff, regaining first place in the NL Central.
Milwaukee Brewers Christian Yelich quickly gave them the lead. Yelich hit his 12th home run of the year on the first pitch of the game, making it 1-0.
Both William Contreras and Owen Miller would join Yelich in the home homer category, with Contreras hitting a lead-off home run in the top of the fourth and Miller hitting a lead-off home run in the top of the seventh.
Freddy Peralta shined as he threw six innings of work, ending with six strikeouts, no runs allowed on just one hit.
The Brewers will try to increase their lead in the NL Central this afternoon. Adrian Houser will take the mound against Ben Lively, hoping to extend the team’s shutout streak. The first pitch will be at 12:40 p.m. on WSAU.
