MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Due to a lower back issue, Brian Anderson has been placed on the 10-day injured list by the Brewers. Jahmai Jones has been recalled from AAA Nashville to fill in.
In his first season with the Crew, Anderson has significantly cooled off after a scorching start to the season. He now hitting just .229 with nine home runs and 38 RBIs.
Jones, who joined the Brewers before the All-Star break series with the Cubs, has played in four games for Milwaukee and has hit 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, all of which came in his first game last Monday against the Cubs. Over the weekend, he played in two games for the Sounds and homered and scored twice.
The Brewers will be without first baseman Rowdy Tellez after Adam McCalvy reported that Tellez fractured his finger and needed stitches after pulling off the nail bed while catching fly balls. Tellez was supposed to join the team in Philadelphia on Tuesday, but Todd Rosiak now reports it will take him at least three to four weeks to heal.
