STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) – On July 5, Stevens Point Police conducted a traffic stop on Minnesota Ave. on two suspects. The male, who had an active warrant, then drove off with the female. Today, the two were stopped once again in Stevens Point and arrested.
They were found on Church St. in the 3200 block. Officers tried a high-risk stop which led the man to once again leave the scene. Police did chase the suspects and officers discovered the vehicle, which was empty, in the 3200 block of Coon Avenue a short time later. Officers established a perimeter, and after chasing him on foot, the couple was arrested.
The woman faces numerous charges including possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia, two counts of felony bail jumping, and two counts of resisting and obstructing. Meanwhile, the man faces two counts of felony fleeing, two counts of resisting and obstructing, possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia, recklessly endangering safety, and several traffic citations.
