FOND DU LAC, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – According to state documents, Cindy Schulz-Juedes, who was found guilty last summer of murdering her husband in 2006, has passed away in custody.
According to records from the Department of Corrections, she passed away sometime on Wednesday at Taycheedah Correctional Institution. Law enforcement in Fond du Lac says she was found unresponsive in her cell, and life-saving measures were unsuccessful.
DOC officials have confirmed that they are investigating her death as a homicide, though no further details have been released.

She was found guilty of her husband’s murder in October 2021, and in June 2022, she received a life sentence. Prosecutors said she committed the crime to get nearly $1 million in life insurance money and other assets.
Online documents show that Schulz-Juedes had filed an appeal in her case last month.
