MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A federal judge in Madison has sentenced Devin Needham to ten years in prison for possessing more than 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute.
Judge James D Peterson handed down the sentence earlier this week after the 37-year-old entered a guilty plea to the charge earlier this year. Investigators found Needham was communicating with another person, identified as Ari Lor, to distribute the drug.
The takedown occurred on June 20th, 2022, when Lor was tracked from his home in Appleton to the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Rib Mountain. Information gathered from their cell phones along with security camera footage from the store shows them making the exchange, with Lor selling Needham one pound of the drug for $4,000.
Judge Peterson noted that Needham has a history of drug offenses and has shown violent tendencies as well. His criminal history includes eight convictions ranging from possession of cocaine to child abuse and bail jumping.
The FBI, Wausau Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Everest Metro PD were among the agencies involved in the investigation.
