CHAMPAIGN, Ill (MetroSource-WSAU) — Illinois football is hiring a former Wisconsin head coach to be part of Bret Bielma’s staff.
Jim Leonhard will be a senior defensive analyst for the Fighting Illini.
Leonhard joined the Badgers back in 2016 and became the interim head coach after Paul Chryst was fired last season. The defensive coordinator left Wisconsin after the school hired Luke Fickell to become the new head coach.
Bielma previously coached the Badgers starting in 2006 and went 68-and-24 to go with three Big Ten titles.
